The author of The Certainty of Uncertainty is Mark Schaefer. Mark is a professional wordsmith, writer, attorney, linguist, and pastor formerly serving in campus and local church contexts in the Washington, D.C., area, where he also served as an adjunct professor in religion.

Work and Education

He earned his B.A. and M.A. in Russian Language and Literature from the State University of New York at Albany. Following that, he moved to Washington to attend the George Washington University Law School, after which he was admitted to the practice of law as an attorney. Mark practiced law in the District of Columbia for five years before beginning his theological studies at Wesley Theological Seminary.

Teaching

Mark has taught courses as an adjunct professor in Christianity, New Testament, Religion and Social Justice, and The Religious Heritage of the West, as well as courses in Biblical Greek, Greek Exegesis, New Testament, and Russian language.
